On Friday Feb. 5, 2010 the area was hit with one of the largest snow falls in quite some time.  Over the span of the next 4 days Richeyville Vol. Fire Co. responded to approx. 20 different types of calls that were mostly due in part of the snowfall.  The social hall had also been set up as a disaster shelter for anyone that needed a place to stay due to loss of power during the storm.  Beallsville Police Chief Rich Young had obtained a trailer from the Red Cross containing cots, blankets, and pillows for the residents to sleep on while at the social hall.  The Richeyville Vol. Fire Co. also received a donation from the food bank to help feed anyone staying at the social hall.  The firemen of Richeyville Vol. Fire Co. was at the Firehall 24 hours a day during the storm to help anyone that needed assistance.
